Create a GIS database with at least 3 primary data layers.

Use them and additional primary or derived secondary layers to address a question or solve a problem orientation analytically in your field of study (creating a database alone will not suffice).

A project title and 100 word abstract are due in class on Nov. 8. (worth 10 points).

A preliminary flow diagram showing tentative data layers and processing steps are due on Nov. 22 (worth 20 points).

An in-class oral presentation of 10 minutes length using Power Point (or other graphics illustrating your project) is scheduled for the last day of class, December 6 (worth 50 points).

Complete project details should be given in a printed report of no more than 10 pages. You might print some of your Power Point pages, but be sure that your report includes at least 4 pages of text that describes your project. The project’s GIS operations should be summarized in a flow diagram within the report, which may be included as an Appendix (or 11th page) to the report. This report is due in the Anthropology Main Office by 5 pm on December 8 or in the last meeting . It is worth 70 points.
Late papers cannot be accepted.
