Animation interest is not only available through the U of A's curriculum, but organizations(clubs) on campus have began to bring together interested students. Also listed are professional organizations around the world for animators that provide resources, news and information and employment opportunities.
Game Developer's Club
The club is for people interested in developing computer games. It involves more than just computer programming and includes art, music, sound effects, and story writing. As a group, the club works on a main project. The current project is a tank battle game. The
club meets at 7:00 on Wednesdays every other week.

Women In Animation is a professional, non-profit organization established in 1994 to foster the dignity, concerns and advancement of women who are involved in any and all aspects of the art and industry of animation.

- The Toronto Animated Image Society
We are a non-profit corporation registered with the Province of Ontario. In the past we have held seminars on such animated related topics as computer animation, layout, storyboarding and promoting your animated film. We have also viewed reels of animated films from other countries; organized portfolio evaluation workshops for students; held exhibitions of artwork from animated films and socialized at picnics and Christmas parties.

In the span of 30 years, ACM SIGGRAPH has grown from a handful of computer graphics enthusiasts to a diverse group of researchers, artists, developers, filmmakers, scientists, and other professionals who share an interest in computer graphics and interactive techniques.
