Process Description:
The Microstation Design files supplied by the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department were accessed in Geomedia Professional 4.0 using the CAD Server Schema utility. The data originally made use of a polyconic projection, NAD27, and were reprojected to Geographic (Lat. Long.), NAD83, during Geomedia's ""export to shapefile"" process. Features were extracted based on the origin point of the Microstation cell used to represent the feature. The design of the CAD Schema Definition File allowed similar features from each of the 75 counties to be exported simultaneously to the same shapefile.
