While the GeoStor System is not a an line web mapping system it's architecture supports a variety of applications. One, the Arkansas Economic Development Atlas, provides communities throughout the state of Arkansas with important economic development information such as available work force, infrastructure and other factors.

A second web mapping application is the Interoperable GeoObserver (I GO) - I GO is a new interoperable map viewing client written in XML, XSLT, HTML, and JavaScript. I GO implements OpenGIS Consortium's Web Map Server Specification 1.0.0 enabling map images from multiple map servers to be viewed in an overlaid map display. I GO was designed to be flexible and easy to use allowing the NSDI Clearinghouse node to open I GO through linked metadata, as well as, providing functionalities found in most web map clients

An important web mapping system, separate, but related to GeoStor is
Arkansas Soil Information System (ARK-SIS)
Arkansas Soil Information System (ARK-SIS) is an on-line, interactive mapping application focused primarily on mapping the soil distribution of Arkansas.
ARK-SIS uses digital geographic databases and GIS technology to allow online interactive mapping of the soil data for Arkansas. In addition to simple mapping, the user can perform queries and analyze the available databases, view the spatial distribution of the soil types and various soil properties, or build their own thematic maps.
The project was constructed using SSURGO and STATSGO databases, published by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and TIGER /Line data (developed by the Census Bureau) and ESRI's ArcView3.2 and ArcIMS3.1 software to manipulate and map the data.

ARK-SIS functionality can be generally described, as an interactive, web-based tool developed to provide instant access to soil information in a digital format for a wide category of users interested in the soils of Arkansas.
The counties available in ARK-SIS are SSURGO-NRCS certified, as well as uncertified data. Data is being continuously added to the site, as it becomes available.

To visit ARK-SIS go to http://soils.cast.uark.edu/
*ARK-SIS only operates in Internet Explorer 4 or higher.

The soils data displayed in ArkSIS will shortly be available to the public through the GeoStor distribution system.
