Project 2001 - Movie | Project Power Point | Virtual Exhibit | Posters | Parkin State Park | FX Team

The 2001 project involves make a 16th century 3D recreation of the Parkin archeological site of the Indian village of Casqui located in NE Arkansas (refer to the Parkin State Park link above for more information on Parkin). This year's team was made up of Kent Walker, Aaron White and Harlan Skinner who are EAST students that had trained at the EAST animation workshop with SoftImage 3D.

The students worked on creating a scene that captured a true Casqui villager's daily life. The students put together the interior of a home complete with artifacts, people and a story. This scene was created using SoftImage XSI and Adobe Photoshop.

The project's products include:

  • Awakening of the Guard - This is the animated movie which is 2 mins. 46 secs. long.
  • Power Point - The students created a power point presentation explaining how the project was completed.
  • Virtual Exhibits - Several interactive movies of objects and the home were created, these are Quicktime VR's that the user can navigate through with the use of the mouse.
  • Posters - A 33' x 34' movie poster and a 33' x 34' informative poster with background information on Parkin was created.
*Some of these downloads are very large and may take several seconds to load.
