B.S. in Computer Science. Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. 1986
Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies (1991- Present)
Research Assistant (1993- Present)
During the last 15 years, Anne has moved from an emphasis on the GRASS GIS package and Informix databases, to applications of photogrammetry to the field of archaeology, to the role of team lead in 2 projects involving the creation of web-based query interfaces for the National Park Service, to Java programming and the development of 2 complex web-based data entry systems. Her current work involves the development of a web mapping interface.
Graduate Assistant (1991-1993)
The assistantship was funded through a project sponsored by the Corps of Engineers' Construction Engineering Research Laboratories: the Central and Northern Great Plains Overview. A highlight of this project was the gathering and compilation of county-based counts of archaeological sites for the continental United States. The SHPO Archaeological Site Counts and the SHPO Archaological Site Densities maps are products of this work.
Computer Research Institute of Montreal (CRIM) (1987-1990)
Analyst/Programmer
Responsible for user support and training, and system operations on the Center's microVAXStations and Texas Instrument Explorer II workstations.
Terrorism in Time and Space (2006-2008)
The spatial analysis conducted on the data collected as part of a previous project (Geospatial Analysis of Terrorism Activities) highlighted the need for more spatially related information such as complete addresses. The TITAS effort addressed this need and resulted in a new datastructure and a redesigned data entry system. Anne assisted in the data redesign and was the team leader for the creation of the new data entry system. The new data entry system was built using Oracle Advanced Development Framework (ADF).
Geospatial Analysis of Terrorism Activities (2005-2007)
This project expanded data collection from a previous project funded by NIJ and examined the temporal and spatial patterns of environmental and international terrorists using a larger sample. Anne moved the original Access data to an Oracle database and built the Oracle Forms data entry interface that was used during the data collection phase of the project.
National Archaeological Database - NADB (1996 - Present)
Anne is responsible for user support and the maintenance of the web-based data query system, and participates in the updates of the biographical data.
Archiving artifacts using close-range softcopy photogrammetry (1996)
This project consisted in the development of an easy and inexpensive method to generate 35mm stereo photographs of archaeological artifacts from which three-dimensional measurements can be extracted using a digital (or softcopy) photogrammetry workstation.
Oracle database, PL/SQL programming, Java programming, Oracle ADF, Java Server Faces (JSF), Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports.
Geographic information systems, web mapping, web development, photogrammetry, the application of information technologies to archaeology.
