Jason A. Tullis is an Associate Professor and geographer specializing in geographic information science (GIS) and remote sensing at University of Arkansas. He is a member of the Department of Geosciences and a faculty affiliate of the Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies (CAST) and the Arkansas Center for Space and Planetary Sciences. He studied GIS and remote sensing with a BS (1999) at Brigham Young University and an MS (2001) and PhD (2003) at University of South Carolina. Dr. Tullis’ research interests focus on remote sensing and GIS-assisted decision support in North and Latin American biogeography and functional landscape health, provenance in GIS and remote sensing process, and forest biophysical remote sensing. He teaches Vector GIS (Spring), Principles of Remote Sensing (Fall), Remote Sensing of Natural Resources (Spring even years) and Seminar in GIScience and Remote Sensing (Spring odd years); Dr. Tullis served as the Associate Editor of GIScience and Remote Sensing and as a panelist for NSF and NASA, and is an active participant in the NASA SERVIR program.
