Unix System Administrator, Windows System Administrator, Troubleshooter, and Internet/Network Security

Jeff's primary duties at CAST are to enhance research, support infrastructure, and extend outreach to local and community resources. He brings 23 years of computer experience to CAST, wanting to provide low or no-cost solutions to everyday and research projects.

Hardware Experience: Sun Enterprise 2000-10000, SGI Origin 2000 (Craylinked), SGI Origin 200, SGI O2, SGI Indy, IBM RS/6000, DEC Alpha, Textronixs X-term, 8088 thru Pentium Intel and AMD under Linux, Xenix, and FreeBSD.

Software Experience:
OS: Solaris 2.5.1 thru 10, Irix 5.3 thru 6.5.25m, AIX 4.1, Digital Unix OSF/1\Tru64, HP-UX 11, Linux 2.6, Windows 2k-2003 server

Server software:
BIND, Apache, Sendmail, NNTP, NIS, NFS and Automounted Filesystems, IP Masquarade, IPFilter unix firewall, Squid Proxy/Cache Servers, RADIUS, SNMP, Windows DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, IIS, Postgres, and MySQL

Development:
Perl, Expect, PHP, Fortran/77, Common Gateway Interface (CGI) Programming, C/C++ compiling, debugging, installation, and porting.

Monitoring:
CA_Unicenter, BMC Patrol, Big Brother, Perl for custom monitoring solutions
