Continuing and Professional
The Center has a modest effort in providing continuing education for practicing professionals - the focus is primarily on offering opportunities that are not otherwise available through other sources and venues. Center staff routinely offer shortcourses and workshops on a variety of geospatial topics at local and regional meetings. Topics of recent workshops/presentations include:
- Utilizing Landuse/Landcover with GIS Applications
- Managing Arkansas Wetlands Information
- Finding Watershed Information in Arkansas
- 3D Laser Scanning
On an irregular basis selected courses in the use of ESRI software, particuarly Introduction to ArcGIS, are offered to the Northwest Arkansas user community, including UA faculty and students. If you are interested in such courses please contact Turn on JavaScript! at (479) 575 8614.
UA faculty and students can take advantage of the ESRI virtual Campus offering for self-paced education. Information on the UA ESRI offerings are provided here. In addition the Center-developed on-line GPS and GIS courses are available at this link.
