Hannah completed a PhD at the University of Leicester under the supervision of Prof.
D. Mattingly. Her thesis was about the Faynan, a copper mining district of Southern Jordan,
exploited during the Roman and Byzantine periods. In 2008-2010 she was a research assistant for
Oxford Roman Economy Project at the University of Oxford with Professors Andrew Wilson
and Alan Bowman. Her research interests include metalla, ancient industry, and GIS. She is also
co-investigator of the Barqa Landscape Survey continuing her work in the Faynan region.
