While an employee at CAST Stephan Pollard created two GIS data resource guides which were for several years CAST's most accessed web pages.

They were:

  1. Starting the Hunt
  2. Japan GIS/Mapping Sciences Resource Guide

 

These provided links to a wide range of data including GIS, remote sensing, geospatial data products, maps, activities and information sources. Due to the constant upkeep effort necessary to maintain such resources up-to-date, these guides have been discontinued.

 

 

 

Starting the Hunt was a guide to mostly online and mostly free US geospatial and attribute data. A data set derived from "Starting the Hunt" is hosted by the University of Arkansas Libraries in their GIS & Maps section at: http://libinfo.uark.edu/GIS/us.asp
