Wetland Resource Information Management
Arkansas' Wetland Resource Information Management System
The Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies (CAST) has partnered with Arkansas’ Natural Resource Commission (ANRC) to develop a prototype of a statewide wetland information management system. The results of our effort to date has resulted in the design and development of a geospatial infrastructure to disseminate wetland related program data and activity reports for participating agencies. The Arkansas wetland information system will compile and present current wetland resource statistics and conditions for our wetland decision makers.
The resulting web tools will simplify the analysis of existing and historic data, while quantifying our wetland types, quality, and abundance within Arkansas. This capability will enable multiple state agencies to review a summary of collective wetland impacts or restoration activities within a particular wetland areas and provide acceptable results at the watershed level.
