In close cooperation with Development Consultants Inc. of Fayetteville AR, the Center provides Base Station differential correction files for GPS users in Arkansas and the surrounding region.
RINEX .obs and .nav data files can be downloaded from ftp://gps.cast.uark.edu/recent. Each file contains 24 hours of L1 and L2 carrier phase, L1 C/A-code pseudorange and L2 P-code pseudorange observations at a 1 second logging interval. Files are in YYYYMMDD format, referenced to GMT. So, for example, to get observation data suitable for differential correction for data collected from 7 November, 2008, 05:10pm - 07:30pm CST, you need to download the files CAST20071107.zip and CAST20071107.zip since the equivalent GMT duration extents across both days. Those using Trimble Pathfinder Office software will find CAST listed as a download site in the "Internet Search" option of the "Differential Correction" module as CAST (Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies).
The National Geodetic Survey On-line Positioning User Service (OPUS) is used to periodically check the reference coordinates against nearby CORS sites. If the discrepancy exceeds 3 cm in any ITRF dimension, an email alert is sent to the operators.
