July 1991 Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI)

Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) data represents density and greenness of vegetation. NDVI layers were derived at the USGS EROS Data Center from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) satellite images.

Viewing or Transfering Maps/Data to your local machine:
In order to view/download graphics, you should have a viewer like xv [UNIX] or Cshow [PC], or ghostview for Postscript documents [UNIX and PC].
If you do not have these you can download maps/data as follows.
If using Netscape : select Save Next Link As... from the File Menu, then click on the images/metadata icon to download the file so it can be used with other software packages.
If using Mosaic : select "Load To Local Disk" from the Options Menu, then click on the images/metadata icon to download the file.
