Trimble Reference Station Information
The Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies (An official research center of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville), in cooperation with Development Consultants Inc. of Fayetteville, AR, maintains an FTP site to provide Base Station differential correction files for GPS users in Arkansas and the surrounding region.
The base station is a Trimble® NetRS® receiver/automated reference station, collecting L1 carrier and C/A code for differential GPS (DGPS) information. The antenna, a Zephyr Geodetic with Radome SNO, is located atop the Science and Engineering building on the University of Arkansas campus. By agreement with DCI Fayetteville, free public access is provided to the correction files. Use of this base station is recommended for GPS end users within 300 miles/500km of Fayetteville, Arkansas. The station antenna is positioned at:

Longitude - 94° 10' 21.20881" W
Elevation - 422.765 m HAE (Datum - NAD83)
DGPS data is collected 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Occasionally, the base station may be down for upgrades or repairs. Any changes to the DGPS data collection schedule will be announced on the Arkansas GIS Users Forum email listserve. All correction data files are placed on CAST's FTP server in one hour increments at approximately 20 minutes after the hour. Each zipped file represents 1 hour of GPS readings with a five-second epoch. The file structure is PPPPDDDR.zip, where PPPP is a four character site prefix (in our case “CAST”), DDD is the Julian Day (day of the year), and R is the hour of the day A-W with “A” being 1am “W’ being 11pm, and 0 (zero) being midnight. Please note that the file name is given in GMT (GPS Time) not local time. DGPS data can be obtained at the following, CAST maintained, ftp site: ftp://130.184.75.105/recent. Those using Trimble Pathfinder Office software will find CAST listed as a download site in the "Internet Search" option of the "Differential Correction" module.
