Operational Check of DataQ Software and Digital Calipers
Using SOD with DataQ software and digital devices
DataQ software and digital calipers must be operational as described above in the operational check section. SOD must be installed as per the SOD installation and setup section of the SOD manual.
Two new menu items, "Confirm On" and "Confirm Off", have been added to the Maintenance option of the SOD Main Menu that facilitate the use of digital measuring devices. To use SOD with digital measuring devices the user must click the mouse on "Confirm On", before starting an "Add_data" or "Update_data" or "Edit_data" operation. The "Confirm On" option specifies that a "Enter" or "Tab" key must be pressed to exit an input field. The data received for digital measuring devices are automatically followed with an "Enter" key code moving the cursor to the next data field. If the users are NOT using digital measuring devices they should set "Confirm Off", the default condition, which will save many key strokes when entering data.
The Data tables in SOD designed to receive data from digital measuring devices are Adult Measurements, Immature Remains Measurements, Adult Maxillary Dental Measurements and Adult Mandibular Dental Measurements.
