Acknowledgments I would like to note that this document only represents a small portion of the hard work associated with source water assessment in Arkansas, nor does it reflect the conclusion of the source water assessment program. This document summarizes a process of developing suitable GIS data and methodologies for the statewide assessment of all public water sources within the State of Arkansas. These methodologies will evolve as new data and analysis procedures become available. We have had the benefit of collaborating with an amazing team of Arkansas water quality specialists during this two-year project and have benefited greatly. It has been an eye opening experience for those of us not familiar with the issues of ensuring our citizens have clean, healthy, drinking water. The Environmental Protection Agency, Arkansas Department of Health, United States Geological Survey and the Arkansas Water Resources Center provide excellent service to the public and as a citizen, I am truly thankful for their efforts. As for my colleagues at the Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies (CAST), I would like to thank them all for their incredible support of this project, particularly, John Wilson, Linda Fye, Paula Justus, Karen Wagner and James Sullins. Although many provided assistance and input to this project, John and Linda were involved from the beginning and should be commended for their "can do" attitude and efforts over the past 30 months. James and the system administration team have made certain that our "tools" were available and in top working order when needed. The GIS data collected in support of this project would have not been possible without the cooperation of many different state and federal agencies. Their personal assistance was imperative to the success of the project team and our ability to meet the EPA deadlines. The support and data provided by the Acxiom Corporation was one of our most important data elements and a special thanks goes to Carla Ingram, Theresa Gerard, Tiffany Weatherly, Cissy Jones, and Heidi Hoggatt of the Infobase product team.
