What is archaeo-geophysics?

Archaeo-geophysics, also referred to simply as "archaeophysics," is the application of geophysical principles to the the study of near-surface archaeological deposits. It is therefore a branch of applied geophysics with goals of discovery, mapping, and understanding of archaeological sites, features, and deposits through non-invasive means.
