Magnetic gradient data from Sand Creek Village. Three major anomalous areas are located at N7/E14, N10/E26, and N29/E24. Three smaller magnetic anomalies are located at N40/E17, N40/E18, and N35/E20. Two areas along the N20 line in the vicinity of E15 and E18 reflect some edge matching problems with the northwest and southwest quadrants of the geophysical grid. Given the recovery of iron artifacts from the site during the metal detector investigations, it is probably safe to say that the six anomalies probably represent iron artifacts dating to the 1864 massacre.
