Project Name: Bogan Site (14GE1), KS;

Reference: De Vore, S. L., and R. K. Nickel (2001). Interim Report of the Geophysical Investigations at the Bogan Site (14GE1), Geary County, Kansas. Midwest Archeological Center, National Park Service, Lincoln, Nebraska. Submitted to Kansas City District, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Magnetic gradient data from the Bogan Site clearly showing three houses. The fortification wall shows up in the norhtern part of the site, as well as in the southwestern corner. A linear anomaly winds its way across the upper center portion of the site. It may represent a pathway through the village. Ther are several small dipole point anomalies associated with the house depressions and possible house locations. Some of these may represent features associated with the houses as well as iron artifacts. A very strong anomaly in the northern portion of the grid may be a modern intrusion.
