During March 2003, archaeological staff and volunteers from the Midwest Archaeological Center and Hopewell Culture National Historical Park conducted geophysical investigations at the Hopewell Mound Group in Ross County, Ohio. The geophysical investigations were conducted as part of the park's planned bank stabilization project above the bank of the North Fork of paint Creek. A magnetic gradient survey was conducted over 21,600 sq m. Numerous magnetic anomalies were noted, including a historic trash dump, other historic features, prehistoric features, and a few lightning strikes. The conductivity survey was limited to 1200 sq m. Conductivity anomalies included the historic trash dump and other historic materials.
