The Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies (CAST) is a research unit of the J William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas with strong research relationships with faculty across the entire campus and with researchers in other universities, the private sector, non-governmental organizations and local, state and federal agencies. A list of current research collaborators is accessible [here]. CAST researchers are engaged in both basic investigations in geospatial method and theory and in their application to a wide range of domain areas. Current areas of emphasis in geospatial method and theory include enterprise geospatial systems, geospatial interoperability, high density survey, photogrammetric techniques, spatial decision support systems, and visualization. Collaborative projects have included bio-geographic and environmental studies, archaeological analysis, archaeological geophysics, historic preservation, database design and deployment, interoperability and standards, web mapping, data fusion. To assist the academic community, CAST provides hardware software, facilities, and staff in support of faculty and student research - a number of recent theses that were conducted using Center facilities are accessible on this site.
