Population by County (1960)

Description: This raster map shows the population density of the lower Mississippi
Valley, by county, for the year 1960. In 1960 states west of the Mi ssissippi
are sparsely populated. Most of the population in the western Valley,
with the exception of several localized metropolitan areas such as Kansas
City, and Little Rock is located in close proximity to the Mississippi
river. The eastern states are generally more densely populated. Source: U.S
